Funny point and click fairy tale Catie in Meowmeowland interprets Alice in Wonderland in its own way. Whether the new story managed to surpass the original - we tell in the review online games from the studio Friv2Online.
The main character of the whimsical Catie in Meowmeowland, a girl named Cathy, starts chasing a cat in a hurry somewhere, falls into a hole and, after a long flight, ends up in Meowland.
Everything here is not like in our world, but Katie is not embarrassed: she communicates with unusual characters with great interest. Mostly these are cats of different shapes and sizes, but there are other creatures.
For example, a stone head that looks suspiciously like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Or a translucent sort of like an elephant, which is not averse to feasting on everyone it meets. There are also a variety of birds, worms, rabbits, trees with eyes, reasonable potatoes and many others. You never know who you'll meet in the next scene.
In such an unusual universe, the humor is appropriate - absurd and stupid, to match the notorious Chuchel and Pikuniku. The friv game makes you laugh: grimaces and funny character animations will surely smile at you, first of all, Katie herself, who reacts to any event.
The gameplay isn't all that fun. Puzzles often defy logic, which makes it sometimes hard to guess what the game wants. You have to sort through all the active points on the screen and try to understand what needs to be done to pass to the next episode. More often the solution is obvious, but in rare moments Catie in Meowmeowland drives into a stupor. Luckily, the mouse cursor changes shape when hovering over an active object, so no pixel hunting is required.
Catie in Meowmeowland looks great due to the art, but blurry backdrops in low resolution are very striking. Clearer character models are highly dissonant with the "soapy" environment. One gets the feeling that the friv game, created for the screen of a smartphone, was stretched on a large monitor.
However, in the point and click genre, the issue of graphics has always remained somewhere in the background, so this cannot be called a serious drawback of the game. Otherwise, we have a good quest that can entertain for four hours - that's exactly how long the passage of Catie in Meowmeowland takes.
